AIR CALIN

CONTEXT

Interim management

Transport & Airline

Aircalin is New Caledonia’s international airline, founded in 1983. It employs nearly 500 staff and serves more than 10 destinations in the Pacific zone, including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Vanuatu, Fiji, Wallis and Futuna, and French Polynesia. Its modern fleet includes two Airbus A330neo and two Airbus A320neo aircraft, offering quality services and optimum passenger comfort.

Context:

The Program-RM-Pricing-Interline-Alliances Manager is leaving his position after 7 years of solid structuring work. Rather than a risky external recruitment (mobility from metropolitan France), Aircalin favors the internal promotion of an engineer already in the company, in charge of digital and without knowledge of the fields at stake, but whose qualities predispose her to this position with managerial responsibilities (>20 pers.), technical and with the multiple stakes of revenue optimization.

The Executive Committee decided to call on an interim management, coaching and mentoring mission to accelerate the executive’s skills development across all the departments in her division.

RESPONSE

IMPACT is offering a 4-month assignment, including 2 months on site in Nouméa, for total immersion and full familiarization with the company’s specific features. A 3-phase mission:

  • an audit of all departments involved
  • phasing of mentoring according to the Manager’s profile
  • proposals and deployment of new processes in the various departments in parallel with the Manager’s skills development

RESULTS

  • A manager who, 4 months after taking up her new post, had mastered both the high-level strategic aspects and the operational aspects, as well as her understanding of the business and the issues at stake.
  • Teams who have also developed their skills and are enthusiastic about the input provided by outside expertise
  • Increased cross-functionality between departments
  • Aircalin called on IMPACT CONSULTANTS and immediately signed up for a new 6-month assignment to support the opening of the BKK-PAR route.
